Finding good carriage driving help and advice

Question: how many times have you thought to yourself? 

• I’m not sure my horse should be acting like this
• Is this a bad habit that’s forming or is there reason, poor fitting equipment – Ill Health?
• Is it me ? am I driving the horse incorrectly and causing the problem
• I know I should be doing this to encourage the horse but last time it happened it frightened the pants off me maybe I will do it next week

You’re NOT alone

Most of us experienced or not so have been there and still do as infinitely new situations and things present themselves

Although carriage driving as a pleasure – sport –commercial enterprise is rapidly growing in the U.K seeking local advice and help isn’t as simple as asking the electrician that lives in the same village.

So too, there is not a lot of down to earth understandable practical help that can be found on the internet.

So on this page we are going to try and give a few pointers names and contacts

We would recommend as a first port of call seeking advise from experienced members of a driving club or society, you can find a map and list of these under the Club Stuff and Links Menu on the left of the page.

However some times well meaning advice can be very varied and raise more questions than answers, horses are individuals and the questions and answers infinite.

There are a number of excellent commercial enterprises who break horses to drive -- see and attempt to solve common problems on a regular basis that the individual  might only come across once in a life time and not intuitively know possibly the best way to proceed.
